Embark on a magical after-dark journey through Monteviot Gardens near Jedburgh.
As the nights draw in, annual light shows such as The Enchanted Forest in Pitlochry prepare to illuminate the dark, winter months. But for the first time ever, an exciting new light and sound trail will be coming to the Scottish Borders. Monteviot Lights promises to be a magical and captivating experience for all ages.
Located at Monteviot House and Gardens, just 10 miles from Tiny Home, this spectacular event will take place over nine days from 30 November until 10 December.
The wonderful setting of Monteviot is incomparable, this truly is “one of Scotland’s great gardens.” But the team behind Monteviot Lights are delighted to launch the first lighting and audio spectacle in the heart of the Borders. Unlike traditional light installations, Monteviot Lights embraces the natural backdrop of Monteviot Gardens, accentuating the beauty of nature itself.
Beginning at the Harestanes Visitor Centre, you will journey on foot through a 1.5km route of a beautifully lit trail that winds through the gardens and woods. Creative lighting brings the natural beauty to life, whilst the experience is enhanced with breathtaking soundscapes.
Pass through the magic doorway and stroll along the trail, where you'll encounter a symphony of twinkling lights, creating a kaleidoscope of colours and patterns. Marvel at the dazzling light displays that dance across the trees and shimmering ponds, casting a spellbinding glow on every corner. Each step reveals a new spectacle, inviting you to pause and immerse yourself in the ethereal ambience.
Follow the illuminated pathway that winds its way through the grounds, leading you on a mesmerizing journey through a world of light and wonder. The carefully designed light installations are thoughtfully placed to accentuate the natural beauty of the gardens, transforming them into a captivating winter fairytale.
You can also take time to stop and enjoy the delicious locally sourced food and drink available. Whether it's the first time you've visited Monteviot House and Gardens or you're a regular visitor, Monteviot Lights promises an unforgettable journey through a world of enchantment. Monteviot Lights is running on selected dates between 30th November and the 10th December. Each night begins at 4.30pm and the event closes at 9pm, with last entry at 7.30pm. Entry timeslots will be every 15 minutes and visitors.
